Yea thats the plan. Get the n/a 7age up and running as fast as possible. I'm just looping the lines on my ps rack since I don't have a ps pump for now. Once it's on the road I can sort out all the other stuff. Suspension and brakes are coming before the turbo.

I'm looking for the base mainly, but need both lower and upper alt mounts. NST has upper so thats not a big deal. The lower bracket is hard to find apparently.

There's not much left on my list to get it on the road...

adjustable cam gears
master cylinder from s14
battery
alternator & bracket
wheels/tires
brake pads
seats
and some way to start it since I don't have a key lol

oh and bolts, I need lots and lots of bolts since someone managed to scrap my big ass bucket of toyota bolts...

one two skip a few, and it's running. Needs a tune, but pretty decent for a first start.

Ran into some compression issues, so I tore it all apart again, turns out there's a bit of rust in two of the cylinders that was causing a problem. The block and head are at a machine shop getting milled, and its getting bored .040 over. Just waiting on my new pistons to show up now.

Happy 8/6 day to me!

7AGE is officially running as of last night!

After finding a bent rod, and bad compression in two cylinders due to rust, I had the engine bored .040 and rebuilt it with new pistons and ACL race bearings. It wasn't starting at first, and to make a long story short, it was due to the cam timing. I'll probably start up another thread at some point to go over the cam timing since I haven't found one yet that was very useful.

Anyways, the trick was to line crank and cams up with factory marks, and then rotate both cams 4 degrees clockwise (advanced I think). Once I did that it fired up for me and ran like a boss. A billion thanks to mooreofit for all his help with this build.

The TPS is disconnected, the timing has not been sent, and it sounds like there is a vacuum leak. So it's not perfect, but it is running. 7afe bottom end, 4age head, afm, trd 4-2-1 headers. Everything is pretty much stock aside from the rebuilt block and adjustable Tomei cam gears. No exhaust except for the trd headers.

I'll finish tuning it up and get the idle right later.

Finally getting around to posting up some of the pics... Sorry if everything is out of order

Here's the bent rod I found and replaced. Surprisingly, the engine still ran like that

As you can see, these stock bearings were pretty toasted, I replaced them with ACL race bearings

For the fuel pump, I actually used the fuel pump bracket from an ae92 that I had lying around. It already had a walboro pump in it, I just needed to attach the hoses. Aside from that it is a direct bolt into the tank, and seems to fit snugly against the bottom. I don't exactly remember what the situation with the lines was, but I had to fuse in the adapter piece you see in the pics to hook it up. I used that to thread into the gts fuel line that had to be swapped. It's 3/8" (-6an) for the line that runs into the engine. The return lines do not need to be upgraded.
