Been awhile. Parts started rolling in. I'm going to do a full rebuild of the motor. It's going to be all oem Toyota parts.
I really want to see what a fresh blacktop can do.
Still waiting on a bunch of stuff but in the meantime I got a air compressor and a sandblaster. I started cleaning up somethings by blasting it with walnut shells.

Pulled the head. And cleaned the pistons. I was hoping for just new rings a hone and new bearings.... Looks like I gotta add a piston to the list. Bores look good though!

#4 looks like this!!!

Bores all look ok. Still have cross hatching.
I guess it don't matter but I hope the bearings are okay!

Well head needs rebuilt and I got rings coming anyways.
It's going to day custom engines to be rebuilt.
I got all the valves out and head stripped. I used the toyotool valve remover. I bought the 20v specific one... And guess what! It didn't work!!! I had to add washers inside to push the seat down far enough to remove the retainers!! After that it's the best tool ever!!

Anyways I'm debating on whether to get those new Ferrera valves while rebuilding the head (supposed to flow way more cfm than stock) the valves are around 500$ the advantage of getting em now is I'm getting the head rebuilt anyways so there's no "additional" cost in getting them installed... Well here are some pics...ImageImageImageImageImage
I also got my 9.5mm spark plug wires and my sv3power downpipe and test pipe!

Head is done... Well i got to shim it...
Port matched exhaust ( you shoulda seem the mess in there!!!) intake side was really close to matching the gasket so I left it.

Someone pimped my block! With leopard print hahah it wipes right off.. Weird..
I Need to rent a puller to remove the timing gear then remove the oil pump, then the block goes off to get decked and honed. I guess bt20v rod bearings are different and are special order so another month waiting for parts from Japan. Those and main bearings were ordered today along with a toda oil pump gear and I'll be weight matching my pistons and rods along with the crank, flywheel and clutch assembly

Thanks! The block should be dropped off tomorrow and finished by next Monday. I was told I NEED blacktop specific rod bearings but I'm reading elsewhere I can run small port rod bearings.... Anyways I am planning on being up and driving this time next month... Earlier if I can get parts faster.
