Welp. I'm not from Texas, but there was a LOT of information on this site that I just stumbled over. So I joined it. Figured if I ran into any issues you guys would be able to help. Seems people here are more helpful than Club4ag these days. Not much has been done to it yet, but it's coming along slowly but surely. I also came from the BMW world... which I'm glad I parted from because the 86 world is soooo much cheaper and easier than my P.O.S. bmw was. anyways on with the pictures.

This is when I first picked it up on November 21st, 2009. It was about a block away from my friends house with a blown engine. I finally scraped up enough money to buy it. I was in college, and paid for everything my whole way though so I didn't have much. Guy originally wanted 1000 when it ran, but after he blew it up he only wanted 500. So this is what I got. One plus it had drilled/slotted rotors and new brake pads! exhaust is shit.. it's stock from the exhaust manifold to the cat, then from the cat to the muffler is like 2 or 2 1/4".

I bought this MR2... cannibalized it to get the 86 running. I also stole the manual rack out of it as well.

Image

This is what I used to look like before I went into the "corporate world" now I have no facial hair nor long hair. :( Also at like 3 a.m. swapping the engines in my grandpa's garage haha.

Image

Then I upgraded the clutch about 4-5 months later as it was starting to slip. So I bought a ACT clutch the cheapest/lowest one you can buy for the corolla.

More to come once photobucket uploads the rest of my pictures....

The damages from the last owner...and rust that I'm starting to fix as it's finally getting warm enough again.

I hit up my first drift even up here, and I was damn surprised there was people that even KNEW what drifting was! Here's a few pictures of that. Bone stock minus the clutch and a front/rear strut bar.

i hate body roll... but it was to be expected with stock suspension.

cleannnnnnnnn coupe sr5 converted to gts has one tiiinnny crack in the dash. only thing wrong with the car.

Then I didn't do anything besides the basic maintenance to it until last october (after I got a real job finally) when I received these in the mail :-D BC coilovers

which made my car look like.... complements to the owner of the shop i worked for during college for letting me borrow his lift.

I purchased this setup from a guy in MN. Needs a few little things, but I should be able to find them. ya ya it's on club4ag... but oh well. I also got a w58 Transmission, flywheel, and a 3 puck clutch shipped for 1000. Had all the brackets even came with the belts still on the engine. It sure looks as if it was already installed in a RWD config. as everything that needs to be done has been done as far as I can see. I just threw a link to the sell page. I'll post up better pictures when I get around to taking them lol.

Then I came across these for some basher/drifting wheels/tires for 250 that some local guy had.

Cleaned up and repainted the manual rack.

After:

Still need to order t3 bushings and probably t3's tie rods/steering knuckles. In the near future... to put that rack in.

Well this is where I am with the car today as it sits. Hopefully continue getting parts and upgrades. Slowly but Surely it's becoming better. Most of those pictures were taken with my cell phone... so they are kinda shitty, but it works. I also need to level out the car and try to distribute the weight evenly again. Also needs an alignment, but I want to wait until I put the manual rack in.

Just echoing others: very good progress. Especially the fact you're giving the suspension and steering initial serious attention.

Thanks guys. To me id rather start with suspension, brakes, steering, and drivetrain then upgrade the engine.

I know where crofton is, but I'm originally from the other side of nebraska! Lol

welp I got this....

Image

+ a w58 trans, 3 puck clutch, flywheel, ecu, wiring harness, basically all the little things. I'll post up pictures later of everything I picked up. Want to get a bigger radiator, and need to get better fuel pump. Then I'll start in on that putting that engine in.

Ohh ya also got this last friday, and now currently waiting for my test pipe. OBX header and a T3 test pipe since I don't have a welder or access to one yet... Once I get it then that will go in.
