Update. Tore out the factory tar sound deadening material, got the engine back in, about to come back out again, and I should be getting the car painted in a couple of weeks. Will update with pics asap.

What method did you use to take out the sound deadening out of curiosity?

a bit of dry ice, let it sit for a while a hammer and ice pick takes it out pretty easily

Indeed. I was fishing to see if he was the person that recently commented on my video about how to do it with dry ice. No need for the hammer BTW ...

Well things haven't really gone as planned. My truck broke down so I'm having to fix it first but I'm hoping I can make it to 86 day this year. And I think I just waited till it was freezing outside and got it out with a combination of a hammer and a pry bar to scrape with for the sound deadening.
