Thanks man. I bought mine used so just keep an eye out for some. Try club too and those are hatch ones and I had to trim them.

Random thought of the night. I kind of want to paint this on my car...

Why not. Strange how Japanese pin up girls are cartoon characters that don't exist.

Why paint when you can just have a decal or two made of it?

Ehh, i've never been a fan of sticker decals. Plus, paint would give it a much more authentic look that would fade with the rest of the car.

Ok so weird phenomenon Im getting, I just did my water pump and dizzy. When I re-timed everything the cams at TDC and stabbing the dizzy at TDC she fires rights up on the first try. (she this exact same thing too when I first put the motor together and started her for the first time) The issue im getting is when I check the timing she's around 60° BTDC. Idles alright, drives fine but still super rich like black smoke. Now I am running a MR2 dizzy but I know Mckenney is running one but he never had this issue. Its weird and my mind is just having a hard time wrapping around it.

Could it be that the distributor was stabbed 180 degrees the wrong way?

if it was stabbed 180 off his spark plug wires would need to be backwards as well for it to actually start. unless the exhaust cam is 180* off lol

Correct me if I'm wrong, but since he mentioned he was using the MR2 distributor, isn't it clocked slightly different from what OEM would be?

clocks the same just the caps are differently oriented, but only the way they mount. I have the same distributor and have been running it for over 2 years. when I first installed it everything lined up the exact same way as the stock Corolla one.

soooo, we gotta little quick tuning done on the old girl tonight. the idle air adjustments were all out of synch. and the power valve adjustments were uneven too. I still think it may need smaller jets because there is still almost 40 degrees of advance in the timing. but she runs alot better. and Tedd gotta little surprise outta the Cressida tonight too!
