Ok well today was a productive day off. I pulled the motor and tranny out of the GTS. Took off the PS and AC, will finish pulling the rest of that out later. Had kind of an issue getting the right angle to get both the motor and tranny out at the same time, but what luck I had four friends there to help lol. Once I got the old blue top out I took off the clutch and flywheel, the PO I guess learned to drive stick on the car because there were hot spots all over the pressure plate and chunks of clutch everywhere. Now the next step is to start building the new motor to go in. Now the I have the old blue top (the motor I took out of the GTS) and a red top out of a 91 Geo Prizm and the original plan for was to just swap in the red top as is and call it a day. After some playing around in my head I am now thinking of swaping the big port head off the blue top and pair it with the hi-comp block from the red top with NST light weight pullies, Light weight flywheel, and GZE cams. One thing I am wondering now is, with the GZE cams and the hi-comp block would I really need TVIS? I will be doing my research later this week.

PICS!!!

And 7rib vs 3rib. Get some pics when you get the heads off to show the difference in pistons as well.

Ok tip i learned, when pulling just the motor out of a corolla you can leave the hood on like what mckenney did. However if you are pulling the motor with the tranny, you will have to take the hood off.

How about i make the whole car removable? Just a thought. Back to the car, It looks like I will be keeping the tvis, I thought with the gze cam i could delete it but its just not aggressive enough.

As I was reading this thread and thinking about black widows and brown recluse spiders along with snakes nesting in the dash, under seats, etc. Be careful because bug bombs don't necessarily work on some spiders.

Great find though. The body appears to be in pristine condition.

Thanks man. Yea after the bombing we were still finding some spiders in the garage so its back to using the old fashion method to killing them, hammer, and sometimes fire. lol I saw that you were in lubbock, I was there for two years out at tech.
