Yeah, that's the same bender I'm looking to pick up Alan. Great minds think alike :P. I was just going to hit up harbor freight for the tube notcher.

im kind of hesitant about the 7" bends. i would like them around 5 but the cheapest machine to get at 5" bends is the the woodward hossfeld type bender.thair stand and bender are the same price as the jd2 but the woodward dies are 150 bucks cheaper than the jd2's.but i just dont have 600 bucks to get those benders and this is the cheapest best option.

the notcher i was going with the 60 buck woodward one. ebays got some cheap ones but i dunno.

my wife said i cant order it till wednesday. but jonas if you want to save the money ill do your bends for you when i good at it or you can do them on my bender.

I appreciate your generous offer Alan. I may just have to take you up on it. Now, any further progress on this build? 2011 is just around the corner!

i might be done mid next year IF my wife goes back to work very soon.if things stay the way they are things look bleek untill im done paying for the monte carlo in april. mostly hundred dollar bites here and there and things that require more time than money. but after april ill have an 375 dollar budget to get ALL my cars up and running till the following tax season where my wife wants to pick up a new car payment depending on my progress in getting the 3 cars running.if i can get just get the monte legal and reliable.i am supposed to be fixing the reliable part today but i just cant drag myself outside to do it. think im just gonna paint my other headlight.

Why are you running that thick of tubing by the way Alan? I plan on picking up 1.5" .095 DOM from a friend's company. Should be $360 to my front door for 80'.

I need to do some work on the house as well...:(

damn i responded to your post like along time ago.wtf?

i could not find GOOD info about what is scca and nasa leagal and i wanted to be sure. i will not be running the 1 3\4 it will be 1.5 or 1 5\8ths.

on a progress note i have made the stand i just need to bolt it to the floor and assemble the bender. i still aint got the die yet or any tubing. i have had to put a stop till this untill my monte is fixed and legal. should be legal this weekend but im having f-bombing tranny issues again. might just need a reflash might just need a line pressure solanoid. if its not that then the valve body's leaking.

making my first 90* right now to calculate my bends and start the main roll bar today. i had to pour a slab in my back yard monday to mount it to something. got the interior stripped and crap off the floor.

p.s. i have free interior stuff to all who may want.

and im also going to be cutting to fit my dash. i would really hate to cut my perfect dash. i would trade it to a good home for a cracked dash.

due to the large holes in the floorboard

Image

this project has been set back another year. i was just going to re bead some floorpans but the damage is wide spread so ill redo the whole pan and tie it to the cage like a spaceframe.

got the hoop bent though.

Image

the other bent peice was my only mistake, ive decided to go with a halo so ill be using it there with minimal waste.

also playing with some colors.

Image

im going to go with something similiar to this.

Image

interior engine bay a candy tangerine with gold pearl and exterior candy red with a gold pearl dust.

still got to get a brake and bead roller so i can get this fixed.
