4agze limp/safe mode?

Post by 86boy »

OK I have everything hooked up the car starts and runs but like crap. Only code the ae92 ecu is throwing is 51 for the AC. seems to hit a rev limit at 3500-4000 rpms. I've seen numerous threads on this but not fully sure. The map was swapped out with another known working GM 2 bar. Same thing. TPS is set within its values. Looped the SC piping because it started to surge again, and low and behold it still surges. Played with the timing again and nothing I do seems to alter it at all. Anyone have any ideas?

I came across a similar problem with a 20v blacktop. It's related to proper ecu +12v pwr and ground. Make sure to wire those the way they were intended to be routed and energized (pwr).

This problem was solved with a MAP sensor. Apparently 4agze engine don't like the GM 2 bar MAP...unless I got the wrong MAP sensor... Thanks for the input!

no toyota and gm signal vary they will not interchange. your best bet is the 3sgte map sensor. expensive. could assemble a megasquirt cheaper than buying one new. but they do float around used.i had a map clamp through the emanage i had on the 101 and the ecu really didnt like it. kept throwing map codes and running like crap. had to run check valves super gay.

Ppl have told me a mid 90s Camry map could potentially be used. Anyone know if that is true or not
I could see it on an NA engine, but not forced induction.

I hear the 3SGTE map sensor would be a comparable replacement.

ya that is what's on my car currently. 90's camry maps are easier to find around here! The only 3sgte I know of... I'm using it's map!

Right on man. Glad you're finally getting some time behind the steering wheel finally.

if you are pushing the limits of a 3sgte map i would recommend a more tuner freindly ecu.
