Steering wheels and hubs

Post by UncleTonyBerman »

hey hey hey guys,

So in starting some progress with my 82 TE72 LB, I went and got myself an aftermarket steering wheel (for $7!!). I will post pics of the wheel later...

Now in order to get it onto the car, I figure I need a hub, right??? Now I was looking on ebay, bc I'm a cheap little Jew like that ( :) ) and found a few that might work, but am not completely sure what I am looking at. So here is my question, here are the hubs I am looking at, which would work best, or what else do you suggest??

http://www.ebay.com/itm/400535980470?ss ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.ebay.com/itm/191056945003?ss ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

and I am thinking this horn button:

help me in the right direction....please

Boss adapters are supposed to be universal, and fit all Nardi/Momo/Sparco bolt patterns ... which pretty much covers the spectrum for bolt patterns used, but I could not tell you for sure how accurately they are machined etc. I have always used NRG quick release.

I feel ya, but am having to stay on a major budget for everything, so $150 quick release is just too much. We will see what I can do

well ordered the hub I needed, a grant style for a 5 bolt steering wheel. Thanks to Mckenney, as always, for the help and advice. If you haven't asked him for help yet, you are missing out.

So that should arrive by Weds or Thursday! Next is to see if it will start. Yes I am buying things I don't really need before getting it running, but, again, a $7 wheel and a $23 dollar hub, isn't breaking the bank. Once I know she is running, I will be starting on replacing bad parts and adding stuff I want. Wink mirror will be added for sure.

I will get a true build thread started once I get started on her. Thanks all for the help and incouragement here.

Sorry, I only know of 2 different patterns. The momo pattern and the slightly off set pattern that NGR uses. Both of which are 6 bolt.

8Bucks is a killer deal though.
