Hey im just sayin'.

Everyone is bustin' facts left and right "GM this" and "Ford that" but no one is citing their sources. Its all hearsay.

You got something interesting? Back it up with a fact.

I was about to rag on mooreofit until I did my research and realized he was partially right.

The GTO is awesome. It rides on the GM V platform. Its not australian. The australians took a european chassis and stuck an american engine in it. Remember the Lotus Carlton? Same chassis. Remember the Cadillac Catera? Same chassis. And this chassis is like 40 years old and not australian.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_V_platform_(RWD) <---- this is the link that effed up my post

The G8 is riding on the Zeta platform and THAT was developed in Australia. However, the reason the zeta platform was developed was because the V platform was discontinued.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gm_zeta

The CTS rides on a platform that is different than that of the G8. It rides on the Sigma platform, and that is also developed by GM in Australia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Sigma_platform

So there ya go.

ahh, this again.

i only assumed (didn't state as a fact) that the GTO was a wholistically (sans the motor) auzzie concoction. didn't know the borrowed chassis was borrowed 40 year old carriage us carriage.

as for the ford info i belched out, you can actually check all of what i said regarding carroll shelby, the gt's the cobras, ford's growing wins over chevy in the early days, the european lemans wins etc...etc...and the fact that the mustang is still and solely a born and bread in the USofA and not imported in (unless it's being imported in to japan for the 2010 D1 Grand Prix). most if not all of ford's authorized and unauthorized info will corroborate with what i've offered forth. i'm just not big into including appendices with my posts ;).

The Pontiac GTO was relaunched in the United States in 2004, based on the Holden Monaro's V platform. The Monaro is a 2-door coupe variant of the Australian developed VT/VX Holden Commodore. The Commodore was in turn developed by enlarging the European designed 1994 Opel Omega B, which was marketed in its original form in the U.S. from 1997 to 2001 as the Cadillac Catera.

I dont understand. Is that the part youre talking about?
