Post by mandm177 »

close to done with my swap, but its far enough along that i can drive it around the block and stuff. still gotta get a coil for the tach, wire up my radiator fans and mess with the timing a tiny bit more. in the meantime. enjoy.

about 4 months...there was lots of waiting for things to come in, and LOTS of waiting on my friend to weld or drill and tap holes.

i wanted it to be done in a month, but what can you do?

Yep. when i ordered mine, they warned me that 1 of the holes was slightly off, and that i had to enlarge it a tiny bit. Not sure if they have fixed that problem since though. Its something id ask about if you decide to get it.

I put it on with 2 out of the 3 bolts, and its on there pretty solid. i wouldnt let that effect your decision.

yessir. i bought the water relocation kit from Sam_Q on the club4ag boards.

Used a new 16v water pump from the dealer, but you have to grind down the front case a bit so that it'll clear the timing belt tensioner pulley.

unfortunately i do not...if you get the water pump, you'll immediately know how much and where you have to grind. just dont do it too much.

as for the water relcation kit...Sam_Q on club4ag has a link that shows his work, but i just dont know what it is...he's in australia, so if you PM him, he usually responds later that night.

is it the one where you just weld the 90 onto the pipe and it's the upper hose?

yep, thats the one.

he actually has a new adapter coming out that allows you to use the stock 16v upper water neck so you dont have to cut/weld anything.
