Bluetop Rebuild in Houston

Post by BeanBone »

I'm looking to get my JDM bluetop rebuilt. It runs, but has a blown head gasket, some oil leaks, and just overall needs some love and attention as it seems the previous owner(s) were not the most careful people around. This is far over my skill level mechanically, plus I want it done right by someone who's done this before.

I'm in Houston and I'm looking for a good shop/individual to take it on. Assuming nothing in the motor is seriously broken, what should I be budgeting here? Any recommendations in the area? Any help is appreciated.

Its not that expensive. If your changing the head gasket I would also change the head bolts, cam seals, exhaust gasket while the heads all off.

Yep, I was planning on changing all the relevant seals and gaskets, get it all running right. Just need to find the right person to take it on.
