so basically I need to raise the compression on my motor and what does MM do the pistons on a 4age have?

81mm factory.

The smallport, hicomp is a 10.3:1 compression motor. With a .8mm TRD head gasket we're maybe looking at 10.9:1 as a conservative ballpark figure. Bringing the head closer to the block is going to alter the timing so adjustable cam gears would come in handy to re-time the cams. I believe that motor came with a pair of Colt Cams that are either 262 or 268 - unless Andrew never used them.

It's doubtful you'll get 10:1 compression just by going with a .8mm head gasket due to the low comp pistons but you'll still get better NA performance. You'll need adjustable cam gears and the cams re-timed to get things running properly.
