4agze fuel pressure regulator

Post by 86boy »

OK so I know that the 4age regualtors will work with the GZE, but the problem I have is.... I don't know what type I should run. there's 1:1, rising rate, etc. I want to tone down the fuel pressure a little bit as I'm guessing its a bit high with the Walbro 255 lph fuel pump. also want a way to control the fuel pressure. anyone have more knowledge on these in terms to relating to a GZE?

I believe a stand alone unit would better solve your issue Chris.

well either way wouldn't I need a way to control the fuel pressure as well? I plan on going the route of stand alone, but I believe I'm overloading the fuel rail also causing extra fuel to be dumping into the cylinders.

You can modify adjustable FPR to work on stock rails might be what you have to do...I will try and find some xamples I believe jonas had a writeup on here

OK sweet. McKenney brought up a good point about the stock regulator could be failing.... might throw the bluetop on just to see anyways.

What is the psi of the Walbro? If a factory regulator failed, would it fail by applying too much pressure or would it just not apply pressure thereby leaning out your fuel?

Say if the Walbro pressure exceeded the factory gze pressure, how would the factory regulator reduce the pressure then being that it is fixed? If it failed wouldn't it usually fail at APPLYING pressure not fail by applying too much pressure? Factory fuel press regs usually fail due to fatigue.

Iv seen a honda prelude aem fpr used on our cars. the mounting holes have been drilled a bit to make it fit but over all it isnt much to make it work and you dont have to spend a tone on a toms or a universal one.

here is a link i think this dude had the same issue as you

well it's a 255 lph.... setup for future use.... and it seemed like the A/F's were good until recently. I'm going to throw my bluetop FPR on tonight and see if that works. I swapped around the vacuum lines, and doesn't seem to change anything. still rich as hell.

I did find this....
