Fuel vapor line and charcoal canister

I read that its ok to delete the canister and plug the fuel line and your good. And I also read that its not ok because the fuel has nowhere to go when it expands. Can the line be shorten and then get ventilated though a breather?

I ask this because I don't have a canister and I don't want to snake the line back in to place if I don't have too.

You do not absolutely "HAVE" to have the canister and vapor line on the engine, but you are running the risk of vapor lock when you want to start your car.

Been running my 20v BT without a canister ever since the swap and no problems.

Eliminate the canister, and put a rubber vacuum hose from the vent hardline down to the hole in the frame rail. you wont have any problems with pressure in the gas tank.

Did the same thing, no probs. As long as it as an exit to go to, you'll be fine.

Hey Warren, yeah the most important thing is just having a vent for your tank. I've been running w/o a canister and the vent line open to atmosphere for 10 years with no issues.

I pulled the the whole fuel system to clean, inspect and replace anything that needed after I found a shit ton of sludge in my tank.. I plan on going to that maydaygarage meet on Dec 14th see some of yall there?

you dont need it but you will smell fuel and some times will give you and passengers a head ach if you are in the car for too long. it will also help with fuel economy if you leave it on but not much
