How much did you pay for your AE86

My first

(1)1986 SR5 Hatch 5 speed - completly gutted except dash and aw11 seats. panda paint job.. always ran terrible.
$400 (Houston-Imports.com)

(2)1986 SR5 Coupe automatic a/c 120k original miles from original owner, new paint/wheels/tires, full service history from the dealership.
$750 (Ebay) (Totaled, insurance company paid 2800-300 for me keeping the car)

(3)1986 SR5 Hatch 5 speed
$700 (Houston-Imports.com)

(4)1985 GTS 5 speed rebuilt 4age
$900

(5)1986 SR5 Coupe automatic Ran and drove but overheated.
$400

(6) 1986 SR5 hatch -5 speed no drivetrain otherwise
$200

Here is a picture of (2) and (3) SR5's (The GT-S in the picture belongs to a friend)

Ford lightning drove down the road the wrong way, I hit the brakes slid right into him. Broke his wheel off the axle.. I drove home with the ae86 like this.. a/c still blowing cold. This is (2)

I paid $500 for my GT-S hatch (blown engine).... here's a picture after it was running. haha Didn't feel like digging through my pictures to find one when it was not running... either way it was still the same look. then a new-ish pic

sigh all of you guys paying less then a grand makes me jelus. i paid $2500 for my 86 true gt-s with full black interior.

I'm thinking you either A. live in a place crappier than where I live.. or B. you got impatient and pulled the trigger on one. C. unknown reason on my behalf hahaha. I have seen some decently clean GT-S go for 2500.

lol i did pull the trigger but it was when there was a HUGE initial d tax on these cars. plus this was the only one i could find at the time. i dont think i over paid i just didnt get a $1000 deal either it is a real gts and im happy with it :) I am in Houston so it isnt like im in the middle of nowhere nebraska lol jk Chris :bwahaha:

i guess the answer is C and the unknown reason is...the only one i could find at the time lol

i paid $700 for my 87 SR5 coupe.
then i paid $500 for a GTS axle and another $200 to have a one piece drive shaft made.
then i rod knocked the engine to death, and need to suss that out so i can drive it again. but i keep fixing MR2s instead.

lmao! you say you're just kidding.... but its true! hahaha I take what i can get ideally. honestly those are the only two ae86s that I have personally seen for sale as well... what are he odds haha

500 Dollars running(but not stopping) with an automatic transmission and a busted wheel cylinder.

$3600 and 1000 mile roadtrip. 85 gts coupe, black interior, 20v blacktop swapped.

i ripped the zenki diff out of it, and sheered off all 8 rivits on the 4 puck srungless hub clutch disc.




it was cheaper to buy this, $1200, than fix that. it was bone stock when bought, here is just a coil cut and celica supras thrown on, fog lights, and smoked lenses.

I paid $2000 for my first one, then got two shells for free, sold them, then got another one for cheap that getting the v8
