Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
Cams are done at the polisher and the oil pan has shipped, the ball is now entirely in the Machine Shop's court. They need to hurry the flock up.

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
It's definitely getting close, no thanks to the engine shop though. This should have been done about a month ago.
I'm almost to the point of picking it up and finishing it myself, I'm dropping the rest of the stuff off on Friday at his shop, he better make chop chop to it.

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
TRD head gasket and SQ Engineering ported oil pump have arrived. Also picking up the gaskets/seals to replace the fuel pump and fuel sending unit this Saturday. Last thing I am waiting on is the fully custom sump and getting the cams polished.

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
Yea, especially since it looks like SQ is out on vacation for the rest of the month. Hopefully my shit will still ship, I want to try and make CCM but that is a lofty goal.

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
For some reason they did not have the 16v pump. I ended up getting it ordered through SQ after they fixed their site.

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
Ordered all the ITB bits as well and a new TRD headgasket. Trying to order the SQ engineering upgraded oil pump but their website sucks wang and they don't seem to reply to messages so I'm assuming they don't want to sell parts. I will give them a few more days, if they don't reply I'll be stuck wit...

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
I'm not sure what i'd need them for, they aren't balanced to match the new ones I purchase and look quite a bit different. Finally got everything dropped off at the machine shop yesterday, I still have to take the cams to get polished but hopefully everything will be re-assembled and ready to go in ...

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
Yeah, I like it and I hope it lives up to it's name. Okay, so, number 3 cylinder bearing took a spin and it took out the crank and the rod. I hit up MRP about getting a replacement rod and they no longer make the style I have. They did help me out a little on the price since I had to order a full se...

Re: to do list
If it's coming out of the cover I would think valve seals not rings. Have you replaced those recently?
Where are there sponsors at? Where can I get some, this shit ain't cheap!

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
I ended up getting this one http://www.highflowfuel.com/i-10125079-hfp-255lph-fuel-pump-toyota-4runner-1985-1991.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's 255lph and it's quieter than a Walbro, Lattanzi and McKenney are also running it and it drops right in stock location on the 86. P...

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
Fuel pump and master cylinder arrived today. I never realized how small the fuel pump was, I figured it would be double the size at least.

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
hope it works out for you man. really what are the odds of this happening? wow I know right, it's really odd. The machine shop got the rest of the block torn apart today, the crank is ruined and one of the MRP H-Beam rods is destroyed. I just ordered a new crank and I'm hoping MRP will sell me one ...

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend
Machine shop found a high amount of sand in the oil, not sure where that came from since the block/head were all cleaned before assembly. My only guess is that there was sand stuck in the oil channels in the block, when I picked it up it was covered in mud and dirt. The head is ruined but he said th...
