Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend

Wow, I had no idea that fan was white either.

Which timing belt tensioner are you using? You need to use the one from the 7a so it holds right. 4a tensioner is too loose.

Brand new dashboards & other carbon fiber ae86 stuff

I've never used these guys or even heard of them, but they're posting about brand new dashboards. I know it's hard as hell to find a decent dash, so I wanted to share. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Retro-spec/164254480421705" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://retrospec-toyota.blo...

Re: gts rear end question

hmm, I wouldn't think that would create much of an issue so long as they are clipped under the middle of the car like Jonas was saying. That should be the same for sr5/gts lines I believe. It was a major pita getting mine in/out, so it should definitely hold them tight. From there, I'd think you can...

Re: to do list

Are you sure you want to use the old bearings? I thought you just spun one? Seems like a lot of work just to throw the old ones in. I'd guess that would lead to other problems. You should be able to buy different sized bearings if that's the problem you are running into. Engines aren't 100% exact, t...

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend

I'm not sure about the bellhousing braces. It all seems nice and solid to me. If you wanted to be really cheap you could probably get away with drilling out some of these holes.

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend

I don't really see those extra brackets as being necessary. The whole setup is real stiff. You get a lot more rigidness from the 7afe pan too. I say just rock the 7afe pan and be done with it. When I get a chance I'll drift the shit out of it and report back lol

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend

I have a 4a oil pan at the house. I didn't actually thread it, but it fit on there no problem. I'm sure you could use it if you wanted. But after comparing the two, the 4a pan looks weak in comparison, so I stuck with the 7a pan. I'm not sure, but one of my rides was leaking oil. I may have to redo ...

Re: A new build......seriously the stuff of legend

I'm still using the 7afe pan. It doesn't bolt to the transmission, but seems fine to me. The 4 big bolts that attach to the block seem to be doing a great job. I think the 7afe pan is better. It's a lot stiffer, and is two piece. Also, looks like there's a built in bolt hole that could be used as an...

Re: Supra-celica wheels or similar

Sweet, do they all hold air? So long as they're not bent, I might be down for driving out there from Houston. Want to pm me a price or post it up here?
