Re: North Dallas roll cages?
Autocomp certainly knows Corollas and fab work. If they're backed up with work, three good friends of mine have had cages for their Supras done by James B, he's out of Sanger. http://www.jamesbchassis.com/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Autocomp is certainly more familiar w...

Re: Are these actually Ae86 Megan springs?
I know this is maybe a little late at this point but your springs are in upside down. With progressive springs like the megans the wide coils go at the bottom for comfort. Additionally if you pull them out and look at the two ends and then the perches one is stepped (bottom) and one is flat-ish (to...

Re: 4AGZE with a CT20B
CT20B's were all ceramic from the factory. They came on 3rd gen 3SGTE's. It will spool a hair faster than a 3S CT26 and make a little more power, but they're all bad news in the end. Nobody likes rebuilding them, and you've got a pretty high chance of the exhaust wheel just coming off. I was dynoing...

Re: Diamond Racing stud questions and quality issues.
Those aren't runs in the powdercoating, that's where they joined the hoop after they rolled it. There are two types of steel wheels, rolled and spun. Rolled wheels have an outer barrel that starts as flat stock, is rolled into a hoop and then welded. Spun wheels start out with a solid piece of steel...

Re: ACT slowly dying out?! or what?
They have two pressure plates, but the max torque capacity is a function of both the pressure plate and the disk you choose. i.e. an organic disk has a lower coefficient of friction than a button style disk. Two pressure plates and three choices of disk would mean 6 different torque capacities.

Re: found this rare 86 in the dfw area
if it is who I think it is... he has the blue 350z that drifts at local dallas events. good guy, but yeah, way too high priced. From what I understand, the guy with the Z bought the 86 from the original seller on craigslist, then donated it to his car club in exchange for something, then they decid...

Glad to see a local build in progress, I'm just north of you in Denton. Also, props on having the guts to cut up those fenders! I'm probably going to do flares, but it's easier to justify since I've got a couple of spots of rust around the wheel well, anyway.

Re: LET THE HEADACHES BEGIN, I NEED HELP.
Any chance that '83 lived in Denton before it went to Houston? My family had an 81-83 3TC 5 speed Corolla, red on white vinyl. We sold it shortly after I bought my Supra. I'm pretty sure I had it listed on Club4AG way back in the day and the guy who came and picked it up spoke little to no English. ...

No worries, your hubs are safe! McKenney had another hub, so now my steering wheel doesn't do this:

Let me get a front hub off one of them, my right front is the victim of a previous owner leaving the grease cap off and ignoring a bad wheel bearing.......

Re: Spring Isolator question, need a measurement.....
Alright, a little digging and I answered my own question.
Front spring:
Bottom, 114mm I.D.
Top, 93mm I.D.
Rear spring:
Top/Bottom, 110 I.D.
The wire itself is 10mm in diameter, so the O.D.'s are 20mm larger.

Spring Isolator question, need a measurement.....
At some point somebody installed new springs and didn't put any spring isolators on the rear of my Corolla, and only one on each spring in the front. If anybody has a set of springs off the car and would be so kind as to measure the ID and OD of the top/bottom of the front/rear for me, I'd like to g...

That's an Aristo pan (GS300), not a Supra oil pan. 240 swap guys use the Aristo pan. Solid deal, I'd just flip it over and see if any of the rod ends are discolored.

I think cars and coffee in March would be great. I've got a ton of Supra buddies that I only get to see at that one meet every month, it'd be nice to get all the Toyota guys together.bt20v wrote:JDMwhiteboy wrote:So what im seeing is a soon to be planed DFW 86 meet?
Yea I think we need to do something soon.
